Daily Snack Allowance

Each day you have an allowance of snacks which is over and above your daily portions. The amount you are allowed depends on your current weight. Your Daily Snacks> 20 stones – 6 snacks daily

18 – 20 stones – 5 snacks daily

16 – 18 stones – 4 snacks daily

14 – 16 stones – 3 snacks daily

12 – 14 stones – 2 snacks daily

10 – 12 stones – 1 snack daily

< 10 stones – no extra snacks or have only 3 carbohydrate portions plus 1 snack

It can be difficult to stick to a weight reducing diet all of the time so your snack allowance means that you can legitimately have a daily treat without ruining all of your hard work. The following is a list of extra snacks that you can have. Each snack listed is less than 100 calories so you are welcome to choose your own snacks to replace these as long as your choices are also less than 100 calories. You could also have snacks all in one go. For example is you are allowed 4 snacks in one day, you could have one snack at a total of 400 calories. You may want to save all your snacks and treat yourself to a takeaway at the weekend or a meal out. Snacks can be saved up to a maximum of one week.

Note; don’t forget to reduce your snacks each time you lose enough weight to drop to the lower weight band. The recommended weight loss is 1 – 2 pounds per week. However, rates of weight loss can vary depending on your metabolism or how strenuous your exercise sessions are. If you feel that you are losing weight too slowly you can increase your exercise levels further or decrease your carbohydrate portions down to three a day. Alternatively, decrease your snacks.
